Getting Started
- Download GluScout from the Mac App Store
- Launch the app - it will appear in your menubar
- Click the menubar icon and select "Settings"
- Enter your Nightscout URL and Access Token
- Choose your preferred glucose unit (mg/dL or mmol/L)
- Click "Save" to start monitoring
Nightscout Setup
Before using GluScout, you need:
- A working Nightscout server (self-hosted or cloud service)
- Your Nightscout URL (e.g., https://yourname.herokuapp.com)
- Your Access Token (if configured on your Nightscout server)
Frequently Asked Questions
Nightscout is an open-source project that allows real-time access to continuous glucose monitor (CGM) data. It requires a separate setup before you can use GluScout.
By default, GluScout fetches new data every 5 minutes. You can adjust this interval in the settings from 30 seconds to 5 minutes.
No, GluScout requires an active internet connection to fetch data from your Nightscout server.
Yes, your Nightscout credentials are stored securely in macOS Keychain. No data is sent to any servers except your own Nightscout server.

Check your internet connection and verify that your Nightscout server is accessible. You can test the connection in GluScout's settings. Also ensure your Access token is correct if your server requires authentication. You can create or get it from /admin tools page on your Nightscout server.
Currently, GluScout supports one Nightscout server connection at a time. You can change the server in settings whenever needed.
